CAV Wine Flights

Pyramid Valley

March 1–6, 2010

For those of you who missed meeting Pyramid Valley owner and winemaker Mike Weersing at CAV in February, or if you just can't get enough, we're starting March off with a Pyramid Valley wine flight. These sensational wines show that terroir is alive and well far away from Europe and that New Zealand is about much more than Sauvignon Blanc and kiwis.

White Burgundy

March 8–13, 2010

Few would question that Burgundy is as good as it gets when it comes to Chardonnay (surely though a few California winemakers would take exception to this). In this fight we'll take a road trip from Chablis to the Maconnais, illustrating the differences that are found in this magnificent region.

Channing Daughters

March 15–20, 2010

Cabernet Franc

March 22–27, 2010

Cabernet Franc is a love it or hate grape for many. As one of Cabernet Sauvignon's parents it often expresses the more vegetal side of its most praised child especially when grown in cool climates. Not everyone minds this and in addition to its red and bell pepper quality, it often has aromas of violets and tobacco with chocolate and red fruits. The wines in this line-up will range from the Rogue Valley of Oregon to, where else, the Loire Valley of France, with a few other stops along the way.
